On Saturday 6 June, the 40th anniversary of the 10th intake of medical students was celebrated at the premises of the Malaga Medical Association. The 10th intake studied between 1980 and 1986.
The event, which was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Ignacio Miguel Santos Amaya, The event was attended by a number of former lecturers and many members of that graduating class who are now renowned doctors.
It was a moving ceremony in which Dr Mr José Antonio González Correa, a member of that graduating class, gave a speech that touched the hearts of those present, recalling their time at the Faculty.
Speaking on behalf of the Official Medical Association was its Secretary-General, Dr. Mr José Miguel Pena Andreu which highlighted the current challenges facing the profession.
Mr. Salvador Nebro Cobos, also a member of the 10th intake, presented a commemorative plaque to the Dr Santos Amaya which expresses gratitude to the Faculty and will be displayed there. Finally, the Dean brought the ceremony to a close after addressing the audience.
Afterwards, the guests enjoyed a cocktail reception in the school gardens.
